Speaking at TEDxVCU was one of the hardest things I've had to prepare for, yet one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. Standing in front of a crowd of 200 speaking about my coming out journey wasn't something I anticipated happening in my graduate school career, but life is full of surprises. My talk was titled "It's Not Coming Out, But Coming Home," and I still stand by that statement today.
